Indianapolis, IN (May 16, 2010) - As the rain continued to threaten practice throughout the day, Dreyer
& Reinbold Racing drivers Mike Conway (No. 24 Dad's Root Beer), Justin
Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line Designs), Tomas Scheckter (No. 23 Mona Vie), and Ana
Beatriz (No. 25 Ipiranga) still managed to make good progress with their
respective cars for the second day of practice for this year's 94th running of
the Indianapolis 500.
At first it seemed like the weather would keep the team from being able to run,
but luckily the quartet managed to get some practice time in. The four drivers
worked closely with the DRR engineering staff to establish a solid
"baseline" setup for the day.
Wilson, in the No. 22 Z-Line Designs car, was the fastest of the four with a
speed of 222.505 miles per hour. He logged a total of 36 laps, putting him 16th
overall. Scheckter, in the No. 23 Mona Vie machine, clocked a speed of 221.057 mph and was 25th among the 37 drivers on track. The South African driver took only 22 laps
today. Conway in the No. 24 Dad's Root Beer chassis, completed 20 laps with a
best of 219.845 mph, which put him in 30th position.
Rookie Beatriz, in the No. 25 Ipiranga car, had a very successful day. After
being the fastest rookie yesterday, the Brazilian was the first driver to
complete Rookie Orientation Practice in 21 laps with a speed of 219.816 mph. She graduated to the veteran practice and did nine laps recording a top speed of 221.705 mph, making her the 22nd quickest for the session.
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will be on track tomorrow for day three of
practice for the 94th running of the Indianapolis 500. For more updates on the

What they have to say about practice for the Indianapolis 500:
Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: "I think it was a positive day for
the Z-Line Designs team. We made some changes to our baseline settings and
started to free up the car a bit and the numbers showed as I gained another
mile per hour in my last session. With rain in the forecast for the next few
days, I think that we got what we wanted to accomplish today and hope the
weather cooperates."
Tomas Scheckter, No.23 Mona Vie: "Unfortunately, we had limited track time
today because of the bad weather. Every time we tried to get something going
with the car it would rain again. The two days have been tough so far on trying
to find out where we are at. We will continue to work at it again and see what
we can find in the next couple of days."
Mike Conway, No. 24 Dad's Root Beer: "Today was just about trying to find
bit more speed in the car. We didn't really trim out or try to go much quicker.
We wanted to get the car more comfortable because things seemed to change a bit
from yesterday. We were just trying to get the mechanical set-up right, because
at the moment we are a little bit away. We just need to keep working at it.
It's a long week and we have plenty of time. Right now we are concentrating on
the race set-up and as the week goes on we will work on our qualifying set-up.
All in all, it's not what we wanted. We were hoping to run more, but the rain
in the end didn't help. Luckily we have more time ahead of us."
Ana Beatriz, No. 25 Ipiranga: "We passed ROP today and I'm very happy. I
felt comfortable getting up to speed and I could run in traffic as well. It
felt really good and was a great experience. Now that we are done we will be
able to run in the 220's. Because of the orientation test you put pressure on
yourself to get fast right of way, so everything is a progress. You have to
take ten laps to get to the specific speed and be in that specific speed that
they want you to do, so once you get in the 215's it's more natural and was
easier for me and I felt more comfortable. I look forward to getting back out
on track tomorrow."
