Indianapolis, IN (May 30, 2010) - It was a day full of ups and
downs for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing drivers Justin Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line
Designs), Mike Conway (No. 24 Dad’s Root Beer), Tomas Scheckter (No. 23 Mona
Vie), and Ana Beatriz (No. 25 Ipiranga) during the 94th running of the
Indianapolis 500.
Wilson had his best result of his Indianapolis 500 career. This season marked
his third time to compete in the famed event and a successful one as well. As
the green flagged dropped, the Brit was able to get a good start and stay out
of trouble. It was a matter of keeping his nose clean and that’s exactly what
he did. After starting from 11th position he was able to maintain that spot for
a good part of the race. As a result, he led 11 laps for the first time at the Indianapolis 500. Unfortunately he was unable to make it to the end and had to make a
final pit stop on lap 189. He brought the car home safely in 7th position.
It was a similar story for Scheckter. The South African impressed all race
long. In the first lap he went from 20th to 14th position and that success
continued throughout the event. On lap 109 he took the lead and led for two
laps. Unfortunately, Scheckter ran into some bad luck during the race and
towards the end he had radio trouble. He still brought the car back in one
piece as he finished 15th.
Rookie Ana Beatriz really proved her talent as she drove a good, consistent
race. The Brazilian kept her nose clean for the most part, but with two laps to
go she was collected in the mayhem in the end. Beatriz finished her first Indianapolis 500 in 21st position.
Conway drove an incredible race for his second appearance in the Indianapolis 500. The Brit led for 15 laps for the first time around the 2.5 mile oval. He had great pit stops and basically drove a flawless race. With two laps to go,
unfortunately Conway was involved in a horrible accident. As a result he was
transported by air to Methodist hospital to treat a lower left leg injury, but
was awake and alert.
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will now head to Texas for the next event on the

What they have to say about the Indianapolis 500:
Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: “We were able to lead and we gambled and
were10 laps short on fuel. We tried to use pit strategy and make something
happen and everyone else was trying to stretch it out so we were able to run
flat out and pass them like they were sitting still. I was really happy and
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing had a great day. Obviously we are thinking about
Mike and hopefully he will be back with the team soon.”
Tomas Scheckter, No.23 Mona Vie: “Dreyer & Reinbold Racing gave me a great
car today. Cut everything out and it was a good solid run. It just seemed like
the more we ran conservative laps to save fuel it just didn’t help to out run
some of the competition that seemed to be able to run really long green fuel
runs. We were a very solid team today and I think that showed.”
Ana Beatriz, No. 25 Ipiranga: “We ran 199 great laps out there and learned a
lot. We had a rough first pit stop that put us a lap down, but at the end we
were able to run with Penske and Ganassi. I was happy to finish with and get a
lot of experience in the car. Thanks to Dreyer & Reinbold for giving me
such a great car and a great crew to work with.”
