IIndianapolis, IN (August 28,
2010) – Dreyer & Reinbold Racing turned their
luck around in tonight's Peak Indy 300 in Joliet, Illinois. Both DRR drivers, Justin Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line Designs), and Ana Beatriz (No. 24 Dad's Root
Beer) endured plenty of action during the 200 lap race. The duo
finished in 7th and 24th position for the Peak
Indy 300.
As the green flag dropped, Wilson had a flawless start. Initially, he started
23rd and went back to 26th position, but that wouldn't last for long. He
quickly proved his skils as he stayed out of trouble and methodically worked
his way up. The Brit came in for fuel only on Lap 8 after the
caution came out on Lap 5. He gained some positions and would filter back
out to 21st. From that moment on it was a matter of getting the car just
right on pit stops. Wilson came in on laps 60, 80, 138 and 172 for fuel, tires
and some turns of front wing. As a result he would climb his way up the grid,
earning a top-ten result of 7th position.
Wilson also earned a nomination for the Firestone "Tire-rific" Move
of the Race" after climbing from the 23rd starting spot to finish 7th in the
wild race. The $10,000 price is awarded after each IZOD IndyCar Series
race to the driver best utilizing his or her Firestone tires to make a bold,
dramatic move during the event. Fans can vote for him
this week at www.indycar.com.
Experience, laps and time were the right combination for Ana Beatriz as she
competed for the first time in an IZOD IndyCar at Chicagoland Speedway.
The Brazilian started 22nd and battled her way the entire time. She made
impressive passes and would work her way up to 16th position. Unfortunately, on Lap 77 a competitor in front of her lifted drastically, which caused her to brush the wall in Turn
4. As a result,
the right front suspension broke and Bia had to bring the car into the
pits. Fortunately, that didn't end her day. The No. 24 Dad's Root
Beer crew worked feverishly to repair the car and was able to get her back
running on Lap 163. Bia was able to improve her finishing position as
much as she could and the team decided to call it a day and bring her in so
that they would not interfere with the finish of the race. Beatriz
brought the car home in 24th position.
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will head back to Indianapolis as they will have a
couple of days to prepare their cars before heading to Kentucky for the
Kentucky Indy 300 on September 4th. For more updates on the team please

What they have to say…
Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: "I think we had a pretty good race
car. Everyone at Dreyer & Reinbold Racing had great pit stops and
gave me a good car. We just tried to make sure that we made the most of
it. It was pretty exciting those last ten laps. There wasn't any lifting
happening. You had to keep it flat and look for the gaps.
I'm just really happy to get a good result for Z-Line Designs."
Ana Beatriz, No. 24 Dad's Root Beer: "I was excited to be back
in the IZOD IndyCar Series in the No. 24 Dad's Root Beer Car. We
had a pretty good car. We were very fast and very competitive. I
was passing people on the inside and on the outside. Unfortunately, I got
in an incident with another driver and brushed the wall. We had to
bring the car in and fix the right front suspension. I just have to thank
the No. 24 Dad's Root Beer crew, because they did a fantastic job of repairing
the car and getting me back out there. We were able to improve our
finishing position and when the yellow came out we came back in so that we
wouldn't interfere with the race finish."
About Dreyer & Reinbold Racing:
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is entering its 11th season of full-time competition
in 2010, making it one of the longest-tenured teams in Indy Racing League
competition. Current co-owners, Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl, first
teamed in full-time competition at the Walt Disney World Speedway in January of
2000. With Buhl behind the wheel, the two owners tasted victory in their
debut race. The 2009 IZOD IndyCar Series season-opener on the streets of
St. Petersburg marked Dreyer & Reinbold Racing's 200th series start.
DRR now has over 250 starts to tuck under its belt and has qualified a total of
27 cars for the Indianapolis 500. In its history, the team has boasted a championship
list of alumni drivers. Besides Buhl, the team has run Indianapolis 500
winners, Al Unser, Jr., Buddy Lazier, and Buddy Rice, along with IndyCar Series
race winner, Ryan Briscoe. The team has one of the longest lines of
heritage in American open-wheel racing and the Indianapolis 500 as Dennis
Reinbold's grandfather, "Pop" Dreyer, built leading roadsters that
raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
